Bug Out!


It is a socially awkward, but biologically interesting fact that we as humans tend to lose our ability to produce the enzymes that digest dairy, but retain to this day the ability to consume and breakdown insects, shell and all.


In fact 80% of the population of the world already eats insects intentionally every day as a staple or delicacy. What the rest of us don't want to talk about is that we eat them as well.
The FDA has specific allowances for the the amount of insects allowed by volume in any  industrially produced foods. As the video shows those volumes are not small. The talk is on the economics, nutrition and viability of insects as food from the TED conferences.
